Big antique, original oil painting by the Dutch painter Hendrik van Bloem.

This is a big classic oil painting by the Dutch artist H. van Bloem, 1874-1960.
The impressionistic style of the painting was obviously influenced by the work of van Gogh and Monet.

Van Bloem was a member of the prestigious Dutch painters society “Pulchri Studio” as well as “Arti”. During his career, van Bloem perfected his impressionistic style. He was foremost a drawing- and printing artist but also made some oil paintings. He worked in several European countries and was a well known and recognized Dutch artist in his days as well in the present time.

This painting probably stems from the beginning of his career and is, as far as I’m concerned, one of his best oil paintings.
The painting is framed in a new, wooden, gold colored frame. The measurements mentioned in the description are taken without the frame. (The robust frame is approximately nine cm. wide)

The canvas is in great shape. The painting is cleaned and a new layer of lacquer was applied. Some paint-loss was retouched.
The canvas stretcher has a stamp of the Dutch artist appliance dealer fa. Tenzer. This firm also provided painting materials to the Dutch royal family, Queen Wilhelmina and Queen Emma. (19th century)
