Beautiful art print, engraving, 19th century, after Anton Mauve.
This engraving was made at the end of the 19th century. It was engraved by the French master engraver Leopold Lesigne. The print was published by Paul Moglia, Paris.
The classic engraving/etching depicts a typical Mauve subject, a natural landscape with animals or people.
Centered at the bottom is printed: LEOPOLD LESIGNE SC. 1897. In the right corner is printed A. Mauve. In the right top of the artwork it says Ch. Poccard editeur Paris and on the left is printed Imp. Paul Moglia Paris. (Paul Moglia was a publisher and printer who lived in France from 1863 until 1901). He was also known under the name Moglia & Cie. The etching measures 16 by 21 cm. It has been cleaned and is in good shape. There is some foxing and yellowing outside the margins of the etching as shown on the pictures.
The print will be shipped unmounted on a black acid free archival board and with an acid free matte so you can store or frame the artwork as you see fit.
