Hulstein Antiques is an online antique and art store situated near Arnhem, the Netherlands. With over four hundred sales and hundreds of restoring jobs done it has become a seasoned business and passionate enterprise over the last last decade. ‘Jo’s paintings’ are sold and enjoyed all over the world but mainly in the United States, Canada and Australia.

‘How it began’

Hulstein Antique started out of a passion for fine art and antiques. The antique fever started when I moved into a 150 year old house. I gradually developed a appreciation for the craftsmanship of antique items and learned as much as possible about the items I collected. This evolved into a small commercial enterprise. The collection evolved slowly but steadily more in to collecting, selling and eventually restoring oil paintings and paper antique collectibles. I have been painting with oil paint since my teens and took several creative courses during my education, so the leap towards the restoration process was not that steep.
